Recognising the need for better training of surgeons, especially fresh post-graduates we have started this programme of training in cataract micro-surgery. This is aimed at producing proficiency in SICS technique or PHACO-EMULSIFICATION OR BOTH as per choice of the student.

HIGHLIGHTS

1. The programme is of 30 days.
2. Includes basic micro-surgery and capsulo-rrhexis wet-lab training on special phaco-training model eyes and animal eyes.
3. Phaco machine terminology, operation and maintenance training.
4. Training in tunnel incision-making.
5. Hands-on training on patients - depending on the individual surgical aptitude and learning capability - should result in confidence to operate on un-complicated cases.
6. Implantation of rigid/foldable lenses.
7. Management of complications.
8. Follow-up management of operated cases.
9. Board and lodging available on campus if desired at no extra charges.
10. Between 10 to 15 cases guaranteed.
